I work with VMware platforms. Here I write about storage, networks, automation, and the things I learn running them.
A little about meA practical walkthrough of a vSAN management migration: preserve host membership, prepare networking and encryption, move hosts in controlled steps, and prove the cluster is healthy afterward.
How to design VCF 9 storage around policy promises: FTT, RAID layout, capacity overhead, rebuild behavior, and workload requirements.
A practical ESXi troubleshooting guide covering common host, network, storage, management, and performance faults, with esxcli commands to identify the failing layer before making a change.
A practical guide to vSAN storage policies in VMware Cloud Foundation: what each setting means, how objects land on hosts, and how much capacity common policies consume.
Home Assistant runs on a two-node vSAN ESA cluster. The witness lives in my main lab. A small workload, with plenty to learn about availability.
